Project Overview

Shenzhen International Low-Carbon City is one of the first batch of low-carbon development pilot parks designated by the National Development and Reform Commission. To showcase low-carbon technologies and achievements, the park plans to build a low-carbon exhibition hall integrating exhibitions, conferences, and science popularization. The project has a building area of approximately 6,000 square meters and requires the building itself to have low-carbon, environmentally friendly, and recyclable characteristics.

Challenges

Buildings must fully embody the concept of low carbon, achieving low energy consumption and low emissions throughout their entire life cycle, from materials and construction to operation.

The interior space of the exhibition hall needs to be flexible and its layout can be quickly adjusted according to different exhibition needs;

The project needs to be completed in a short period of time to ensure it is put into use on schedule.

Solution

Supcon provided the SP-LC60 low-carbon air-supported membrane structure system. This system uses recyclable, environmentally friendly membrane materials, reducing carbon emissions during production by 80% compared to traditional building materials. Equipped with a solar photovoltaic power generation system, it can meet 30% of the venue's daily electricity needs. Its modular design allows for on-site installation in just 30 days. A key highlight of the solution is the application of an "intelligent energy management system," which monitors the venue's energy consumption in real time and automatically optimizes energy use. Furthermore, the large-span, unsupported design of the air-supported membrane structure provides exceptional flexibility for the internal spatial layout.
